President's message

Welcome to the official website of NuEnglish, Inc, a nonprofit educational organization. Here you can learn about our literacy crisis, and, more importantly, you can be part of the solution. Our crazy spelling is a burden shared by all English speakers, and it will take a group effort to throw off this burden.

I have become convinced that politicians need to be reassured that NuEnglish will be "safe and effective" in the classroom. I am currently researching the Initial Teaching Alphabet (I.T.A.), created by Sir James Pitman in 1959. I will use it to show that students using its phonemic spelling learn to read quickly and easily in English. I.T.A.'s downfall is the transition to traditional orthography (t.o.). That's why we need permanent spelling reform--NuEnglish!
