This ring is dedicated to the reform of English spelling. It connects sites that describe the problems with the traditional spelling of English and that propose solutions. It also connects sites using a reformed spelling system.

An association founded in Britain in 1908 with the aim of bringing about “a reform of the spelling of English in the interest of ease of learning and economy of writing.” Website has mission, constitution, articles, news, journals, bulletins and a membership application.

First organized by Melvil Dewey in 1876, the American Literacy Council is that institution, still dedicated to research and dissemination of strategies for the improvement of literacy in English-speaking countries. Much of the website is under construction.
