English
speakers have been burdened for centuries with an archaic, overly
difficult spelling system. It has led to a 2-class society:
the haves and the have-nots. The haves have wealth and power,
so there are good books, good teachers, good facilities and
full bellies for their children to learn to read well. Through
reading comes success in school and then good jobs. The have-nots
don’t have these advantages, so their children do poorly
in school and in life.
This Great Divide need not continue. The spelling system called
NuEnglish is so easy that ANY native English speaker can learn
to read and write English in 1-3 MONTHS, not 2-3 YEARS. Foreign
speakers will learn to speak, read and write English much faster
than they do now. NuEnglish is rigorously consistent yet looks
much like English does now. It will cost very little money to
start using. All that is required is for enough people to demand
that it be taught in our schools at the kindergarten level.
No special teachers, and just one workbook.
Who does a parent petition? Ideally, the parent’s national
Secretary of Education, (in the U.S., currently Margaret Spellings
[an apt name!]). But a bureaucracy of a large country is resistant
to change.
Experimentation and change usually come at the state or provincial
level. Therefore, ...
Citizen’s Petition to the Honorable xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx,

From: xxxxx xxxxx, (city), (state)
WHEREAS … English speakers have been burdened for centuries

in countless ways.
